I am so excited on February 18, which is my birthday and February 19, Joel and I’s 4^th year anniversary. I am so disappointed that we became boyfriend/girlfriend on the 19^th of February, the day after my birthday! I did not think about that during the courtship days. Supposedly, I was planning to answer him exactly on the date of my birthday, but we did not realize that it was already 2 0’clock in the morning of the 19^th! I was really disappointed that time. I even said to him that let’s wait for another month until it is 18(heheheehe, just to have the number 18). But now, I really want to finish our midterm examinations this coming week up to the 14^th. I want to be happy this year. I just want to thank God that He gave me so many blessings. Thank you papa Jesus for the guidance and support. Thank you for everything!!!

My favorite month: FEBRUARY

February is my super-duper maximum turbo favorite month of the year because of so many reasons. First, it is a love month and I am with someone (hahaha). Second, my birthday falls on the 18^th and I’ll make sure it will be one of the most unforgettable birthdays of my life. Thinking about it, I know that it will be not that fun anymore because I’m not a child anymore. There will be no traditional candle cake blowing; there will be no gifts, no feast, no money and no celebration. But then I will make sure that it will be the other way around. I’ll make sure that I will be happy on that day unlike the prior years. I will think of a way to be happy. Third, Joel and I’s anniversary is on the 19^th, which is our fourth year anniversary. I cannot believe we have gone this far. I really don’t know what will happen but I’m excited to know. I’ll start my happiness on the 14^th, which is the end of our Midterm examinations.

Ham and Cheese Pizza from Pizza Pedrico's At SM hypermarket, Mandaluyong in front of Jose Rizal University. It is P39.00 only. It simply tastes good. I am not a pizza lover but I think it is okay specially when it is hot. Joel ate it.

Pork and shrimp siomai with java rice at Hen lin. This is what I ate. I love Henlin's siomai. I don't eat siopao but my mom said it is good. Their products are worth it.

Pansit bihon from Banang's at Mandaluyog Shaw. They have many kinds of Pansit, Filipino viand, different kinds of silogs and different kinds of Filipino desserts. When we don't have any food at home, we just go here and take out some of their specialties. The prices are affordable. I think they also have a branch at Mandaluyong near the city hall. It is featured at ABS-CBN'S morning show with Donita Rose as the host.

I couldn’t think of anything to post. Let’s just talk about my drawer. The upper part contains my Coca Cola glass from Mcdo. It is five different colors and I don’t want to use it because it may not last in an hour. On the right side you can see notebooks that are not yet used and he thin tall white envelope is a huge letter from my friends, Dmagic and Djjmons(it is the name of our group). There are pens in a cellphone holder, medicine case, tucks, box of staple wires, stationeries (you cannot see it on the picture) and a bandage.

The lower part is where I placed my best-seller books. The pink thing is a book holder (???...I don’t know what it is called but it for book organizer). There are shades, my kikay kit, bracelets, colognes perfumes, watches, rings, ear rings, make-ups and post it pad.

SUMMARY:

Shasta was living with Arsheesh the Calormene fisherman who adopted him and takes care of him. Shasta was not really happy living with Arsheesh because he always do the work in the house and actually, Arsheesh was a moody man. One day. A Tarkaan came to buy Shasta. Shasta heard the conversations and there he met Bree. They decided to Narnia and the North. Shasta really don’t know anything about places and things because Arsheesh don’t allow him to go anywhere. They travel and encounter other places. They met Aravis and Hwin But not simple as I was saying because they are hiding to other people to avoid some problem that’s why they met Aravis and Hwin by wrong image because they thought that there’s something following them that they thought that it was a lion. When they met, Aravis was not looking at Shasta because she doesn’t like him. Aravis tell her story to them that she was a daughter of Kidrash Tarkaan, son of Rishti Tarkaan. Her stepmother decided to prepare a marriage for her and Ahoshta Tarkaan that’s why she left. The four of them decided to travel together because they have the same destination that is the Narnia. They travel and travel until they came to Tashbaan and there, Shasta encounter many things that he wasn’t familiar with. It was not also easy for them to go through the gate. They saw some people, where problem starts to begin. Shasta met Edmund and Lucy who thought that he was Corin but Shasta don’t know him that’s why he just pretend until Corin came and they made a good friends. Shasta rushed to go to the tombs because he thought that Bree, Hwin and Aravis were waiting a long time for him but when he arrived, there’s no one there except the tombs of the Ancient King. He sleeps there for one night. That night was not good for him because he was very afraid. He was relieved when he saw a cat that stay with him in the night. When he woke up in the morning he saw the two horses with a stranger but what happen is Aravis saw Lasaraleen who help her. They go hrough the house of the Tisroc to help Aravis to go to the tombs of the Ancient kings safely. They successfully made it but they encounter many problems also because they are keeping themselves from the Tisroc. They heard the plan of Rabadash and Aravis tell all of it to the three when she arrived. That plan was to kill King Lune and Destroy Narnia. They hurried going there because they want to save the king from Rabadash. When they saw him coming, they double there speed and they met the Hermit who help them from the lion who attacked Aravis when they were rushing. The hermit let Shasta to go alone while the three will stay with him to rest. Shasta met King Lune on the way and he quickly tell him but when they were rushing to the place of the king, he lose his path and he met a lion which is Aslan. They talk and after that Aslan vanished and Shasta was bring by Aslan to Narnia. He met many dwarfs who helped him. When he woke up from his sleep he saw Lucy, Edmund and Corin. That time Corin tell the truth about what happened last time and they understand. It was the time when the war started and even if Hwin, Bree and Aravis was not there, they was able to know what’s happening to Shasta because of the Hermit. They win the battle and they jailed Rabadash. Shasta discovered that his name was Cor anh he was a brother of Corin. The three decide to go with Shasta and they also met Aslan. He tells them that he was the one who wounded Aravis. Rabadash turns to a donkey by the did of Aslan but he learned his lesson that’s why he became the best of all the Tisroc. Shasta and Aravis got married and Hwin and Aravis too, but not with each other.

They talked to uncle Andrew about the rings and they really want to touched it and when Digory saw Polly’s hand went out to touched the rings, he warn her but it was too late. Polly vanished easily,uncle Andrew was not shocked but Digory was very mad and he began to many questions to uncle Andrew because Digory want Polly back so he was trying and thinking how to save Polly. Digory decided to touched the rings because he thought that it might be the way to see Polly and so Digory vanished

The ring bring him to the other world, to the world that is very quiet and peaceful but full of mystery. He turned around and watch the place very hard but they don’t see anything but trees and when he looked down, he saw a girl sleeping and he waited her to wake up and when she wake up, they stared at each other and they are so puzzled because they know that they’ve known each other but when they saw a guinea pig with a ring, they remembered that they are Polly and Digory. They walked in the woods and they found many pools and thought that it might be the way to other worlds. They found out that the green rings will take them to the other worlds so they used the green rings and jumped in to the pool. They got themselves to a place where no people but many house that is made by rocks. They enter one of the house and they saw a pillar with a dragon shape and when they continue walking, they saw a door. They go through the door and saw many stone peoples sitting. They was very shocked when they saw the stone woman rising from her chair and when she saw the children, she began to ask many question until they hear a cracking sound so jadis hold the hands of the children and bring them to the place where it is very safe. Jadis told the children to her in their world because she want to rule it but the two children was very mad at her and they quickly touched the rings as they can to stay out from that queen but they didn’t know that the queen was with them. When they are home, unclean drew was very glad to see the queen and he agree with the queen to make him as a slave. The queen asks for a horse and a cabby and uncle Andrew just obey her. Uncle Andrew ask money to aunt Letty but she didn’t gave him. When Jadis got what she wishes for, she try it and the people saw her and follow her while Digory was planning how to bring her back to her own world and when the right timing has come.

Summary

Jonas is scared to know his Assignment on the ceremony of the Twelve and he

opened that to his family because they are required to do that everyday. He was also

worry about the assignment of Asher, his best friend. To ease Jonas, his mother and

father told him about there past and fortunately Jonas had look on the bright side. Days

go by and Jonas can’t forget about the assignment that will be given to him. He wanted

to ask other people, but it was prohibited.

One day, his father brought Gabriel the baby with him that has growth problem.

He said that he would stay there because he’ll try to cure him. Jonas was not that fond of

him that time. He was just staring at the baby and nothing more.

The time had come. The ceremony is celebrated at the auditorium. Everyone

was happy to receive things and new babies. The ceremony of the Twelve has started.

Jonas tried to be calm when the Chief skipped on his number. Definitely he was happy

for Fiona and Asher for their Assignment. After the last number, the Chief apologize

about it and all of them accept it. Jonas was called to the stage last and was given the

assignment for being the Receiver Of Memory. It was a great job but Jonas is not that

comfortable about it.

He was required to have training. The Giver trained him and he likes it. He get to

try new things and he had discover things that are very common tom us but not for them.

The Giver holds the memory of the past and he transmits it to Jonas. Day by day he gets

to see the past and he learn new things, which he didn’t know that has existed. All of the

memory that has given to him is great but he can’t talk about it to his family because

they can’t understand. It is a good thing that Jonas knows the different colors, sunshine,

climate, sled, snow, etc., but the bad thing is that he’ll experience pain sometimes.

Gabriel is moved to Jonas’s room because it seems that he can sleep there.

Jonas always talks to him about what the giver has transmitted to him and he didn’t

notice that easily that he could transmit all of that to Gabriel as well. He didn’t tell it to the

Giver.

The time for the pain comes. The giver transmitted him a scene that can hurt his

heart because of sympathy. Jonas tried to handle that. The giver also told him the story

of Rosemary who failed to handle that situation. Jonas thought that it is not right to

always be directed by the chief or the committee. For him, everyone has to make

decision by him or herself so the giver helped Jonas to do what he wants for the people.

He’ll leave the place while the giver stays there to help the people control the memories

that’ll come back. Jonas brought Gabriel to find the elsewhere and they succeed after a

long hard challenge. They were happy to be there because its an incredible place.

SUMMARY:

Cady, raised in the African bush country by her zoologist parents. The Law of the jungle takes on a whole new meaning when Cady enters public school for the first time. She encountered many group of friends but she find her place with Janice and Daniel, which are true friends. Days passed, she met “the plastics” that is consisting of Karen, Gretchen and Regina. They were being nice to her so she accept their invitation to be friends with them. Cady told Janice and Daniel about it but they are against it because they know what “the plastics” truly are. But then they planned something. Cady would be friends with them but she’ll only do that to know them and to put Regina down. So Cady, Karen, Gretchen and Regina became friends. They were always together. One day, in Cady’s math class, she met Aaron, Regina’s ex boyfriend. She told Gretchen and Karen about it and the worst is Gretchen spoiled it to Regina. Being the meanest girl, Regina betrayed Cady. She get Aaron back to her but Cady didn’t show her that she’s affected. She ask Janice and Daniel for help so they worked on their mission that is to break Regina. She acted sarcastic to her until she didn’t realize that she’s having the personality of a slut. She flirt Aaron and she succeed in breaking them up. She learned how to control people like Regina. Actually, she started to act like Regina. She got Karen and Gretchen. One evening, she prepared a party on her home. Only Regina wasn’t invited, but then Regina found out all about it and not only her, even Janice and Daniel. They all got mad at her because she’s not the Cady whom they used to know. Even her parents got mad.

Day after day, she realizes what she had done so she worked hard to resolve it little by little. She started it with Regina then the other and another. The problem was completely resolved when Cady, as the “Spring Fling Queen”, grab the opportunity to apologize to them. After that, a peaceful day was experienced for the first time at their school.

REACTION

Cady and I are both fifteen years old and we’re both high school student so both of us may be the same or may be not. I don’t like the fact that teenagers today are very contemporary even though I am one of them. In Cady’s case, the plastics influence her, which shows one of the weaknesses of a teenager. I didn’t mean that influencing other people is bad but I just want teenagers to have their limitation and add a little more knowledge in their action. As I watched the movie, there are many lessons that I didn’t expect to come out of my head.

VI. Summary

Kira’s mother died because of illness. Kira was left alone with nothing because he house is burned down as their ritual or tradition. According to her mother, her father died because the beast caught him during the hunt. All she had is Matt even though he’s very small to help her survive. She thought that she’ll just use the place of her house to build a cott but Vandara was very interested to the place because she’s planning to build a fen for the women’s tykes. They were planning to get rid off Kira to the fact that her leg is twisted and that she’ll just cost the village too much trouble. Kira stand up for herself and she didn’t let the women get rid off her so the case was brought to the Council of the Guardians.

Vandara defended herself while Kira can’t even speak. Vandara said things that hurt Kira and the good thing is that Kira didn’t mind all of it. She was not allowed to speak that time but she was able to choose one of the Guardians that can defend her. She chose Jamison. At the end of the case, Vandara get what she wanted while Kira will be staying to work. She will not be thrown but she’ll have her place.

Jamison helps her out. He showed her the new room while Matt brought the things that he has saved before the house was burned. She was happy that they were there. She also meets Thomas that is the same age as her. They became friends because their room is very near at each other.

Kira’s work is the dress of the Singer that needs to be prepared every year. Jamison told her that she needs to know how to make colors like her mother for the weaving of the dress. She was required to go to Annabella to learn so from then on, she goes there with matt and Branch. Sometimes, she would go there alone. Also, she’s thinking on ho to make the color blue. Her mother used to think on how to make one and now she’s interested.

Days passed, they met Jo. Kira found her at the locked room. Jo is a girl tyke singer and Thomas always heard her every night. They became friends while Kira continued working on the dress. Kira noticed that Matt is not showing up in the past few days so Thomas and her went out to look for him. They went to his house but Matt wasn’t there. Matt’s brother told them that he was searching a gift for his friends and he don’t know where. Kira felt lonely because she can’t do anything but wait for him until the Gathering day came. Kira had finished the dress and she’s also proud for Thomas and Jo for accomplishing their work. Surprisingly, Matt came and Kira was very happy to see him. He brought her presents. The first one is the plant for making blue and the second is her father, Christopher. She was very happy and she was glad that she met Matt. She had the time to talk to her father and she found out that Jamison stab him and that what he said about the beast is not true. Christopher is thankful for Matt that he will be the bond that’ll connect him to Kira because she chose to stay. Before going to the place where anyone will care for you, Christopher gave her daughter a gift of threads. Now, the blue gathered on her hands.

My reaction paper in the movie “Drumline”

The movie Drumline is very entertaining to me since I am a teenager. I can say that this movie motivates the youth to go forward on their dreams without considering anyone or anything a hindrance in fulfilling it. Being a movie, of course there are unrealistic aspects woven into the story so we can learn from it and that’s a great advantage of the movie. It is pleasing to know that the director used drums and music to portray human life because as I watch the movie, I know it to myself that most parts happen in the real life. The movie just wanted to remind us of our approaches in the trials of our life and just wanted to show us the disadvantages of being “yourself”.

Like Devon Miles, we have to do what he did, we have to think positive and let no one interfere you as you reach whatever your dream is. The first part of the movie shows the self-centeredness of Devon. He didn’t care about his band mate with the reason that he is not his band mate’s mother and that is a bad behavior if you want to be a successful person. We should care about others. We can’t be successful if we don’t involve others because in everything we do, all the people around us are affected.

Devon, being so disobedient to his coach is not also a good practice. We have the right to speak and fight what you want but sometimes we have to obey and listen. We are not always right but somehow we have to just listen and listen to learn. Our coach or preacher have something to do with our life, they help us in our future so we have to appreciate them.

I will also react to the part when the competitor fought with the A&T band because they can’t stand Devon’s skills with the drum. In competitions, there are each group’s strength and weaknesses. There are weak and there are strong. We don’t have to be angry at something you don’t have. In performing, we should just enjoy and do our best. Don’t think about the award and fame because it is not forever but think about the enjoyment and memories that you experienced is the great feeling that you can have and treasure.

People are not perfect, like what the movie have showed, Devon can’t read notes but he can learn by just observing the actual hands and by just counting the beat. In that case, we should let ourselves learn some things that we didn’t even try before. Just study and open your mind so you can learn.

Being friends with your enemy is putting away all the thorns in your heart. Devon befriends with his coach at the middle part that’s why he was able to learn how to understand what he doesn’t’ understand before. The two of them joined forces in teaching the band and they come up with a good strategy.

Patience is also a part to achieve goals. Like Devon, he did not give up. He tried and tried without any pessimistic thoughts. He started a new life. He changed his attitude that’s why he was back in the team again. Because of his creativity, he managed to teach the band a very unique and interesting performance that they have won the competition.

VI. Summary

Stanley was brought to Camp Green Lake. He was accused of stealing the shoes that has fallen from the sky and had suddenly hit him. He believes that his bad luck is from a curse of the family that was given by Madame Zeroni to Elya Yelnats. He met Mr. Sir and Mr. Pendanski. He belongs to the Group D with Armpit, X-ray, Magnet, Squid, Zigzag and Zero. His first experience in digging holes is not that okay until he was used to it. There’s a time when he found a fossil on his hole so he showed it to Mr. Pendanski as he was required to do but it didn’t seem so interesting. He experienced many things like he was given the nickname “caveman” and when he found a friend that is Zero. He also found a lipstick tube that belongs to Kate Barlow but he didn’t get the special treatment because the other boy from the group stole it.

Elya Yelnats was in love with a girl and Madame Zeroni helped him by giving him a pig to raise for the girl’s father. He carries the pig to the mountain until it got bigger and wider. He also promised to Madame Zeroni that he would carry her to the mountain in return or else his family would be cursed. Sad to say but he forgot to carry her because of the disappointment to the empty headed girl. Since that day, their family was cursed.

Stanley taught Zero how to read in exchange of digging. The other boys didn’t like the idea causing them to fight. The warden stops them. That’s also the time when Mr. Pendanski became very cruel to Stanley. Maybe because of the scratch made by the warden on his face. Because of ill treatment, Zero run away into the dessert because he hit the counselor with the use of the shovel. They didn’t try to catch him but they destroyed his record. Stanley looked for him by driving the truck into the hole to run away.

Another part is the love story of Katherine Barlow and Sam, a black and also called the onion man. Katherine kissed him and Trout Walker saw them. He led the burning of the schoolhouse and also killed Sam. That day, Katherine became a criminal, Kissin’ Kate Barlow. It will never rain again because of what happened. Years had pass, Trout and his wife abuse Kate to tell them where’s the treasure but she chose to be bitten by the yellow spotted lizard.

Stanley found Zero. He was alive because of the peaches that he had found on the boat. He was ill and weak but good thing is that Stanley was there to help him. They found onions and water that rub\ns uphill. Stanley carry Zero up to the mountain, God’s thumb. After that, they head toward the camp again. They dig and found a suitcase but yellow lizards started to surround them so they can’t move. Mr. Sir, Mr. Pendanski and the Warden saw them. They were still until the sun rises. Stanley’s lawyers suddenly arrived and they got the suitcase. He was release together with Zero. The other boys stayed there.

The curse was broken because Stanley was able to carry Zero, ancestor of Madame Zeroni who had given the curse.

Honestly, I’ve never tried cooking any recipe but sometimes I read recipes that caught my attention. I am going to share about what I learned today. It is about pies and pastry making. I learned that there are two types of pies: the one crust pie and the two crust pie.

The one crust pie is lining a pan pie with a thin layer of pastry dough and then bake. A cooked filling is poured into the shell and cooled. Sometimes, the feeing can be topped with meringue or whipped cream if desired. There is another way, it is to pour uncooked filling in the unbaked shell and bake them together. Another variation is to place the unbaked pastry dough on top of cooked or uncooked fruits, vegetables or meats in a deep dish instead of serving as a lining and then they are all baked together.

The two crust pie I when a thin layer of pastry dough which serves as the lining is filled up with a filling of one’s choice and covered with another thin layer of pastry dough which is sealed and fluted at the edge and baked.

This is crispy kang kong of mang inasal. I used to hate it a lot because I was thinking that it tastes like leaves but then my fiend bought some and let me taste it. I was wrong, it taste like Lays or some kind of potato chips. After that day, whenever we eat at mang inasal I make sure that we order some. I like it now. It was served with mayonnaise but I don’t like mayonnaise (hihihi).

This is poochie when he was small. He is so cute that time and I remembered that the first time I saw him is after my retreat when I was in fourth year high school. He was cute back then and vey fluffy and white. Now, he’s gotten old and I am very thankful that he is still with us. I don’t play with him that much but I love him. He is guarding the house and he is very smart. He barks when he needs to pee and poo outside. I hope he’ll be with us in the years to come.

These are foods that my mother prepared last New Year 2011. Sorry, we don’t have nice tables and presentations. We have ube, biko, buko salad, leche flan, pancit malabon, embotido, liempo and fruits. My new year is not that happy and not that sad. It is the same feeling as last year. I waited until 12 midnight and then went outside for a minute or two and then went inside and then ate the feast and then wait until the noise went down and then sleep. Honestly, I hate January because t is the start of everything.

Christmas giveaways

These are my giveaways to my friends last Christmas 2010. I was able to give it on the resume of the class, key chains for my girl friends and bracelet for my guy friends. The bracelets for the girls were given to my relatives as Christmas gifts. It is so hard to know what they want as gifts but we have no choice. We don’t know what they want so some of them were given a bracelet. My mother bought a lot of gifts for the children but it is not enough because there are so may so some of them were given cash. The bracelets that are made of beads(the fourth picture) are all mine(hihihi).
